KAA Summer Festival 2014

Summer 2014

Summer 2014

Time has passed and your regular dose of fun is on the offer – we are back and ready for action! After a rather huge Shakespearean cake to eat, we opted for small, delicious bits to munch one by one: some hillarious sketches for you to laugh, roar or awww at. And then a concert with some freaking good music to jump, listen, or dance crazily to. So much to do this year that the prepositions had to step aside a bit.

This year’s show is even more special as we are going to have an all-star cast – our teachers will surprise both you and us with their enthusiasm and involvement in the entertainment section of KAA. But then, some say a classroom is strikingly similar to a stage, so they must have had a plenty of opportunities for practice, eh?

English Drama Night

endramanightFor all theatre lovers and English language enthusiasts, ActofKAA has embarked on a new project in an attempt to spread the student theatre art over the brick walls of universities and further across the state borders. You will have a chance to witness the result – ENGLISH DRAMA NIGHT – on March 13 in DPOH Theatre in Bratislava.

Apart from ActofKAA’s production of The Merry Wives of Windsor, you will be able to enjoy Our American Cousin, a play by Tom Taylor presented by our international guest – The Gypsywood Players from Brno.

We hope that this delightful event will be a beginning of a long friendship and cooperation between both the theatre troupes.

Winter 2013

Christmas is coming and we bet you are amidst the baking-and-shopping stage, along with studying for yet another exam. Well, we are baking something too. And it will be for you. Guess what: it is the Christmas edition of KAA Festival!

Have a merry Christmas time with the Merry Wives of Windsor, written by our dearest Shakespeare and performed by our beloved ActOfKAA. The real Christmas atmosphere will come with Christmas carols sung by an a cappella trio, and we’ll throw a party with the well-known Raw Bishops and a new arrival: Fresh Out of the Bus. And of course, for all this to be great, we need you to come. We’re counting on each and every one of you!

kcdunajoooDelighted by the success of this year’s premiere, let us invite you to another performance of this charming comedy written by Ray Cooney. Do not forget to invite your friends and make sure you will have free time later on for the after-party. We’ll be more than glad to have you!

KAA Summer Festival 2013

Summer 2013

Summer 2013

KAA Festival, originally only a small cultural event for the students of the Department of British and American Studies, is now growing in size and changing its nature completely. After previous very successful years, we are back in a new attire: a bigger show at a bigger venue and for the whole public because this year’s motto is “We want More”.

The ActofKAA theatre troupe has rehearsed an amazing play titled “Out of Order” by Ray Cooney, which was given an award for Best New Comedy in Britain. Come to have fun and stay with us also for the after-party – the entertainment will be taken care of by the music band The Raw Bishops.

Winter 2012

Christmas is almost here, so let us celebrate!

Once again the students of the Department of British and American Studies have prepared something special just for you. Three short plays will be perfomed by our Theatre Ensemble, followed by a musical performance by The Raw Bishops.

Something about the plays: Qwendolyn’s Gambit is an absurd comedy, Rupert and his Seven Russian Email Brides a very hilarious modern play and The Great Manger Mystery? See for yourself 🙂
